The No. 20 College of Southern Idaho softball team opens its home schedule Friday and Saturday, hosting Snow College for a pair of Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheaders.

Here’s some thoughts from CSI head softball coach Nick Baumert.

On last week’s games against CNCC and SLCC

“We learned that athletically, we can play with anybody. Salt Lake was no better in any facets of the game, but at this time of year we needed to play perfect to beat them. We can get there.”

On starting six freshmen

“They’re getting used to each other (freshmen and sophomores). When you start six freshmen, there’s an adjustment period. I expect them to play even better this weekend.”

Complete SWAC standings and CSI season statistics follow. For those wondering, the NJCAA has not released a Division I poll since Jan. 29.
